Do you insure contractors? If so, I would like to encourage you to consider attending the IRMI Construction Risk Conference in Houston on November 4-7, 2018. This is the premier national insurance and risk management conference focusing on the construction industry. It is also one of the most valuable and well-run conferences I’ve ever attended. Many of the best people in both the insurance/risk management and construction industries attend this conference. In addition to top-notch speakers and presentations, there are ample opportunities for networking and peer-to-peer learning.
I have been fortunate to have been invited to speak on several occasions, including this year. My session is Wednesday afternoon, November 7. Here is the program description:
When Words Collide: Resolving Insurance Coverage Disputes
While coverage and claims disputes are a fact of life for risk and insurance professionals, they are costly in ways that far exceed the lawyers and other expenses incurred to get a resolution. Nothing destroys the customer’s trust more than a bad claims experience. If you’re an agent, you sell promises that you are relying on someone else to deliver, which makes you equally invested in ensuring a fair resolution of the claim. In this session, learn practical strategies for successful resolution of disputed claims from a respected insurance professional whose decades of technical experience and deep insights into how the industry works have uniquely positioned him to speak to this subject.
This session is based on my book “When Words Collide: Resolving Insurance Coverage and Claims Disputes.” I’m going to highlight the means and methods I’ve used for three decades to assist insurance agents and their customers get initially denied claims paid.
Below are links to the conference agenda, speaker bios, and registration information. If you decide to attend the conference and attend my session, please be sure to introduce yourself. If you’ve bought my book, please bring it with you and I’ll be happy to sign it after the session or anytime during the conference.
