It’s been almost a year since I made my last post and that post was titled “My Last Blog Post?” It was, indeed, my last blog post until now. My last “real” blog post entitled “Shrinkflation and Insurance” was posted just over 2 years ago. Why?

I continue to write my monthly column for Insurance Journal magazine which gives me a large audience for insurance coverage and claims topics I feel a need to address. When I have a topic that won’t fit in a 1,000 word article, I occasionally do webinars, most often for IJ’s Academy of Insurance which is an excellent source of P&C educational webcasts. I also write a bi-monthly column for a regional agents association and occasionally do webinars or in-person presentations for others…I don’t do many live presentations anymore but, if you want me, reach out at my email address below.

Far more often, I post on LinkedIn where I have about 9,000 connections. These posts are usually on more timely issues or in response to posts from other frequent contributors. You can learn an awful lot from many of the LinkedIn regulars. I plan to continue being a daily, or at least weekly, creator and contributor to LinkedIn discussions.

I think most people who have read my articles or heard me speak on insurance coverage and claims issues understand my love for this industry. My career began in June 1969, right out of high school, when I started working part time for the Tennessee Inspection Bureau, a predecessor organization to ISO, while working on an engineering degree with a fire protection specialty.

Since semi-retiring at the end of 2016, I have written 6 books, though only 2 of them on insurance. I want to write more, only 1 of them on insurance, but perhaps also a second edition of my “When Words Collide: Resolving Insurance Coverage and Claims Disputes“ book. Now in my 75th year, I need to make time for that which is one reason I’m discontinuing my blog.

In addition, music has been my passion for years now. Not long after retirement from full-time work, I started a classic rock cover band called The Spyders and we played together for over 6 years. Last year, we morphed into an all-originals band called Mr. Nobody. In between, I also started a new band playing contemporary and classic blues, Southern rock, and American music called The Code Blues Band and we perform weekly. Recently, I began to publish my own original songs under the artist name Riders of the Starlight Highway, my first release being a song called “Don’t Give Up“ that’s available on all major streaming platforms. Needless to say, my musical “career” keeps me very busy.

As a result, I’ve decided it’s time to discontinue my blog here and focus on using other platforms for my insurance commentary. However, hopefully, the several hundred articles I’ve written for my blog won’t go away. My friends at Insurance Journal have transported my blog content to their web site and I’m hopeful that they will soon have an area there for my blog posts and the articles I’ve written in IJ magazine since 2016.

I’ve included links above and in the images below where you can still find me and you’re always welcome to email me at InsuranceCommentary@outlook.com or my personal email at QuoteNotes@gmail.com or connect with me on my personal Facebook page.

Wishing you all the best,

Bill Wilson
